Director's Positive Power and Influence
Praise for Asia's first 'Directors Positive Power and Influence' programme
Our very first Directors Positive Power and Influence (DPPI) programme in Asia proved to be a big hit with delegates.
The four-day DPPI - one of our personal development Open Programmes - attracted directors and vice presidents from diverse organisations, divisions, cultures and nationalities. We therefore incorporated a number of key elements into the programme to ensure it reflected the region's outlook, including encouraging dialogue between participants about differing cultural approaches.
We chose a resort in Phuket, Thailand, as the venue, so that delegates could benefit from a relaxed environment with space and distance from their usual work and life pressures. This was particularly appreciated as many delegates travel extensively and spend a lot of time at 'business hotels'.
The programme was unanimously voted a success. Delegates were confident it would benefit others in similar senior positions, both in their own organisation and in others, and fully supported our aim of running more of the same.
We were already aware that people at senior levels in the Asia Pacific region recognise the need for effective influence and are ready to get involved with this kind of programme. The positive feedback was therefore a fantastic endorsement of our belief in the programme's ability to deliver the same value to top-level individuals in the region as it does in Europe.
Comments from delegates
"The pieces of the jigsaw have fallen into place this week. I've learned new things; I've learned what my colleagues think; I've had a week of self-discovery. Even if the manual stays on the top shelf when I get back this week has already given me enough payback."
"I came just expecting to learn some skills and found that the feedback offered and reflection time gave me a way of thinking about myself that was particularly useful. I feel as if I've had some time off the 'hamster wheel'. I feel physically tired and emotionally refreshed."
"The beauty and power of this is that it provides skills to be left brained too. It's helped me to be more rational and structured in my approach - a stick to lean on."
